"Kōfukuron" (幸福論 The theory of happiness?) is Japanese singer Shiina Ringo's first single and it was released on May 27, 1998. This single was released again at the same time as single "Honnou" as 12 cm single on October 27, 1999. The new song was added. Both distributor is Toshiba EMI / EAST WORLD.

This is Shiina Ringo's debut single. She wanted to release not "Kōfukuron" but C/W song "Suberidai" as a title tune. However, she gave up it because of opposition from the EMI staff.

The photograph where 18-year-old Shiina Ringo wore the sailor blouse holding the guitar was used for 8 cm single sleeve. The family photograph of Shiina family in her infancy was used for 12 cm single sleeve.
